Dave Humpherys Joins WotC

Magic R&D head Aaron Forsythe announced Monday that David Humpherys had joined the Wizards of the Coast R&D team as the new Development Manager for Magic.

Humpherys is a former Magic pro and a member of the Pro Tour Hall of Fame (alongside Your Move Game alums Rob Dougherty and Darwin Kastle). After his career playing professionally, Dave could be found working for Upper Deck on the design and development of card games like Marvel Versus and the World of Warcraft TCG.

Upper Deck has fallen on hard times of late, with their Upper Deck Entertainment division, responsible for making most of their gaming properties and having employed Magic luminaries such as Brian Kibler, Antonino De Rosa, and Ben Seck in addition to Humpherys, folded earlier this year.
